Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Give $1 Million to Help Kids in Gaza and Israel

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are supporting yet another charity. The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) received a $1 million donation from the couple on Friday “to help children in Israel and Gaza,” a source informed The Hollywood Reporter. They are adamant about contributing money to causes that are significant to them and have four children.

After Russia invaded Ukraine in the past, Lively and Reynolds matched donations made to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees up to $1 million and gave $500,000 to the organization Water First Education & Training Inc., which focuses on providing safe water to Indigenous people. Following the commencement of the COVID-19 outbreak, they also gave additional $1 million, split between Feeding America and Food Banks Canada.

They most recently gave $1 million to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation’s financial aid program for actors experiencing financial hardship as the actors strike goes on.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delivered stretchers and body bags to a hospital in Gaza on October 7, the day of the Hamas terrorist strikes. According to its website, the organization is evaluating the harm done to sewage and water treatment systems and attempting to find and gain access to the hostages so that it may contact their families and provide medical care.

As the Israel-Hamas War rages on and the death toll rises, Lively and Reynolds are the first famous people to publicly donate money to Israel and Gaza. According to CNN, Israel’s military declared on Saturday morning that it was preparing for the “next stages of the war” against Hamas, which would involve “strikes from the air, sea, and land” and “significant ground operations.”

Several famous people, like Jennifer Garner, Adam Sandler, Yara Shahidi, Kerry Washington, and Martha Stewart, have spoken out in support of the war’s unintentional casualties.
