Easy life: band claim easyJet owner is being sued for the moniker
A band claims that easyJet’s owners, who have filed a lawsuit against them, are forcing them to change their name.
EasyLife said that easyGroup, the airline’s parent firm, was suing them because their names were too similar.
The Leicester band asserted that they were positive they had never impacted the business of the organization.

“We’ve put a lot of effort into building our brand. We have never, I’m positive, had any impact on their business, the band claimed.
“Despite the fact that we find the entire situation to be hilarious, we are essentially helpless against such a huge corporation.”
One of the biggest catalog merchants in the UK, also called Easylife, according to EasyGroup, paid for the use of its brand name.
According to a spokeswoman, “Stelios [Haji-Ioannou] and easyGroup founded and currently own the right to use the word ‘easy’.
Other businesses, such as the catalogue company Easylife, pay yearly royalties for its use as a part of their corporate strategy.
“We cannot permit unauthorized use by others for nothing at all. It would not be fair.
Leanne Hall, a trademark expert at Serjeants in Leicester, noted that easyGroup had a history of taking “a lot of action” to safeguard its brand.
According to her, “EasyGroup has done a lot of work around the word easy and building up their reputation of it,” she told BBC Radio Leicester.
It’s one of those David vs. Goliath battles that always piques the interest of the media because it almost seems unfair that this is taking place, but because of their standing, they do practically have some legal claim to the word “easy.”
Although it doesn’t guarantee success, they are known for trying new things.
The easyGroup has already filed lawsuits against other businesses for using the “easy” name.
A restaurant in Northampton changed its name from easy Curry in 2008 after being threatened with legal action.
According to The Guardian, the corporation sued Netflix in 2018 over the comedy series Easy, alleging that Netflix’s usage of the term infringes on its European trademarks.
