There are flood warnings in effect for 23 million people in sections of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey. Most regions close to New York City had already exceeded 5 inches by 12:45.

State of emergency has been proclaimed for New York City, Long Island, and the Hudson Valley by New York Governor Kathy Hochul. New York City’s mayor, Eric Adams, declared a different state of emergency.
Parts of Long Island, Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, and New Jersey were under flash flood warnings due to current or impending flash flooding.
