Lynn Yamada Davis, the beloved TikTok chef renowned for her humor-infused cooking videos, has passed away at 67, as announced by her son on social media.
Her final moments were described as “super peaceful,” surrounded by loved ones. Lynn succumbed to esophageal cancer, according to her daughter.
In a heartfelt video tribute, Davis’ son shared glimpses of her life journey – from childhood to MIT graduate in civil engineering. He affectionately described her as “cool” and showcased moments as a proud mother, including her running achievements, completing eight marathons. Davis, a mother of four, gained fame with Cooking with Lynja chef videos alongside her youngest, Tim.
Despite a slow start, a 2021 viral video featuring a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich catapulted her to fame on TikTok, where she amassed close to 30 million followers. Known for over-the-top cooking antics and humorous interactions with her children, Davis maintained a grandmotherly charm, even introducing an alter character, “Little Lynja.” Her diverse content, from wagyu steaks to kiddie pool sandwich sessions, resonated globally.
In 2022, Davis received a Streamy Award for online video excellence. Fondly remembered as the “internet’s grandma,” her son expressed gratitude for the joyful video-making journey, allowing audiences to experience her wonderful personality.
