As a result of Ohio State’s stunning victory over Notre Dame, Ryan Day criticizes Lou Holtz

Ryan Day had a message for a Fighting Irish legend just after Ohio State’s stunning 17-14 victory over Notre Dame.

When Lou Holtz was questioned about Kyle McCord’s performance on the game-winning drive, the Ohio State head coach launched a salvo at the former Notre Dame head coach during his walk-off interview with NBC.

“Toughness. That’s it, toughness,” Day said. “Physicalness everywhere. Guts. I’d like to know Lou Holtz’s current location. What he said about our team astounds me.. This team right here is strong.

“We’re pleased to be Ohioans. It has always been Ohio vs the rest of the world, and it always will be. We have a difficult team, and I’ll tell you what, I love those kids.

In response to a follow-up question on what his team had demonstrated in the victory on Saturday, Day continued to criticise some of Ohio State’s biggest detractors over the previous two years.

These kids are constantly being questioned, Day claimed. “The last couple of years, we had one awful half. I’m done now. Everyone wants to ask these men questions. These men right here are fighters. I’m emotional about this kid’s [McCord’s] second-half comeback and victory for a reason.

“Many people have questioned these kids and have said a lot of bad things about them. I adore them. When someone assaults your family, it is exceptional to enter the fray and emerge victorious. Both our programmer and Ohio State benefit greatly from this victory.

Prior to Saturday’s instant classic, Holtz stated that Ohio State “better bring their lunch because it’s going to be a full damn day’s work” and that Notre Dame would win due to the manner in which Ohio State has lost the past several seasons.

In an interview with ESPN, Holtz observed, “You look at Coach Day. “Everyone beats him because they’re more physical than Ohio State,” says the person who lost to him in losses to Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, and Michigan twice.

Day didn’t let his walk-off interview put an end to his excitement. He also showed happiness as he left the pitch, motivating the Ohio State supporters who travelled to South Bend.

Day’s walk-off interview went viral on social media. Maurice Clarett, a former outstanding running back for Ohio State, spoke up right away. Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave, two more ex-Ohio State standouts, rejoiced in the victory.
