Victoria Beckham is criticized by David Beckham for calling her upbringing “working class” Be sincere.
David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, each share their respective perspectives on their love story in “Beckham,” a new Netflix documentary series that follows the lives and career of the well-known football player. But during one particular interview with Victoria, David intervened to clarify the situation.
Victoria reveals in the first episode of the show why she originally became interested in David: “I believe additionally we both come from families who work incredibly hard. We come from the working class, and both of our parents work quite hard.
Then, David abruptly pokes his head through the door from the adjacent room and commands Victoria to “Be honest!”
I’m being sincere, she responds. What vehicle did your father drive you to school in, David responds.
Victoria protests, saying “it’s not a simple answer” and “it depends,” but David persuades her to concede, saying, “OK, back in the ’80s, my dad had a Rolls Royce.”
Victoria and David first met during a football game in 1997, and the British tabloids quickly christened them Posh and Becks. Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz, and Harper are the couple’s four children. They got married in 1999.
In a Variety interview, “Beckham” director Fisher Stevens said that he spent more than 30 hours interviewing David Beckham for the docuseries and 14 hours with Victoria. The two had some amusing on-screen banter as a result of spending so much time with the pair, which was, of course, captured on tape.
Not everything has gone smoothly in his relationship with Victoria. There’s debate all the time,” Stevens added. After all that they had been through, I must admit that I was deeply moved by their bond and how close they are to one another.
Right now, “Beckham” is available on Netflix.
