Will Smith is commenting on his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s autobiography, which discusses the reality of their union.

Pinkett Smith sits down with Jay Shetty to talk about her most recent book, “Worthy.”

A letter written by Will Smith, from whom Pinkett Smith recently announced she had been separated from for seven years, was read aloud by the host of the podcast “On Purpose with Jay Shetty” during her presence.

The Associated Press posted a snippet from the program on TikTok and YouTube before it airs in its entirety on October 16.

“I commend and respect you. Reading the letter, Shetty replied, “I would have hugged you more if I had read this book 30 years ago.

“Let’s get started. The letter said, “Welcome to the Authors Club. “I will always love you. Go buy some Merlot now, and then relax.

With a chuckle, Pinkett Smith replied, “He knows I can’t have any Merlot.”

The note then seemed to have an emotional impact on her.

She said, “That’s beautiful.” “For that reason, I can’t divorce that fool.”

It appears that the Oscar winner’s “jokes” also appeared on Instagram.

With a photo published to his Instagram page on Sunday, Smith seemed to poke fun at the excitement around his estranged wife’s explosive biography, which will be released on October 17.

The video, which is captioned “Notifications off:),” features Smith aboard a ship, lying down below deck and appearing to be at ease while his arms are folded and his eyes are closed. Notifications continue to play in the background throughout.

Over the video, a voiceover adds, “Fun fact about me.” “I can almost anywhere to nap.”

Since the 2022 Oscars fiasco, when Smith smacked Chris Rock onstage, Smith has been mainly cordial on Instagram. However, since “Worthy” came out, there has been greater media attention on the actor’s connections with Pinkett Smith and Rock.

The article and letter are Will Smith’s first public responses to the findings in “Worthy,” which Pinkett Smith further detailed on October 13 in a primetime interview with TODAY’s Hoda Kotb.

Pinkett Smith expanded to Hoda on the divorce-related comment she had made in jest on Shetty’s podcast.

She assured Hoda, “I made a commitment that there will never be a reason for us to seek a divorce. We will resolve any issues. And I’ve simply been unable to breach my promise.
